Eating Mind vs Mindful Eating

Eating Mind vs Mindful Eating

A small morning lesson from Sultan & Stevee

Good morning everyone ☀️

This morning gave me a simple but powerful reminder.

I pulled out two frozen meals and left them on the bench to defrost before taking Sultan and Stevee for their walk. While closing the freezer, a frozen vegetable bag slipped… a few beans scattered on the floor.

Before I could even register what happened — gone.

Sultan = vacuum cleaner mode activated.

Stevee was standing right next to him. Calm. Watching. Not even a single attempt to grab one.

And that’s when it hit me.

Eating Mind vs Mindful Eating
🐶 Sultan – Eating Mind

See food. Eat food.
No delay. No thought.
Pure instinct.

🐶 Stevee – Mindful Eating

Pause. Observe. Choose.
No rush. No reaction.

How often are we like Sultan?

Something appears — food, emotion, opportunity, distraction — and we react instantly.

But mindful eating is not just about food.

It’s about awareness.
It’s about pause.
It’s about choice.

In business, in relationships, in health — especially when managing long-term wellbeing — that pause makes all the difference.

Today’s small lesson from my two teachers:

Just because something drops in front of you doesn’t mean you have to consume it.

Have a beautiful day ahead.

Walk.
Breathe.
Pause before you react. 💛
